Bonn American High School Alumni

A shared chapter in Bonn´s international history.

For decades, the Bonn American High School was part of the American presence in Germany’s former capital. It served the families of diplomats, military personnel, and civilian staff during a distinct political era shaped by the Cold War and Bonn’s role as federal capital.

BAHS was more than an educational institution. It was a place of transition — academically, culturally, and personally — for students whose lives were often defined by international mobility.

Today, the school no longer operates. This website serves as a concise historical reference and a curated record of selected alumni voices and reflections.

It does not function as a membership organization or active alumni association. Connections among former students occur independently.

The legacy of BAHS remains part of Bonn’s international story and of the individual histories of those who passed through its halls.
