Our Fritz – A Face Many BAHS Alumni Will Never Forget

Some people leave behind more than memories.
They become part of a time, a feeling, a community.

For many alumni of the Bonn American High School community, Fritz Schreiner was exactly that.

Anyone who spent time around the pool during those years probably remembers more than just the sunshine, laughter, and carefree summer days. They remember Fritz.

With his calm presence, warm personality, and unmistakable smile, he became a familiar and trusted figure to generations of young people growing up in the American community in Bonn. He was more than simply “the man at the pool.” For many, he represented safety, friendship, continuity, and the unique spirit of those years.

Even today, his name still appears regularly in alumni conversations and social media groups. That alone says a great deal about the impact one person can have on a community without ever seeking attention or recognition.
